Green energy within reach for many consumers
Homeowners, even those who live in states without energy deregulation, are likely able to afford solar power, according to a recent article from Travis Hoium on behalf of financial company The Motley Fool.
"Solar power is no longer something only wealthy, eco-conscious homeowners can afford," wrote Hoium. "It's now within reach for most electricity users in the U.S., and it may make financial sense for you to switch."
The costs of solar power have continued to drop, with both solar installations and the power created from the panels sometimes costing even less than other panels. Some solar panels are selling for as little as $1 per panel, and installation costs are just as reasonable.
According to the Solar Power Authority, solar panel-produced electricity costs an average of 10 cents per kilowatt-hour. However, electricity-sucking devices like hot tubs can produce occasional spikes in these estimates. These costs also vary dramatically depending on an individual's state of residence. According to The Motley Fool, solar projects in California are selling for as low as $0.089 per kilowatt-hour.

We are proud to announce that in only three short years Viridian's

We are proud to announce that in only three short years, Viridian's strong growth, profitability, and market presence were officially recognized in the direct selling industry at this week's key industry event.
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, Founder and CEO Michael Fallquist, along with SVPs Meredith Berkich and Cami Boehme, attended the Success University sponsored by Video Plus at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Dallas, TX. The executive trio watched presentations from industry experts like DSA President Joe Mariano and economic advisor Paul Zane Pilzer. Viridian’s own Michael Fallquist spoke to the crowd of more than 600 people about Viridian and our commitment to sustainability.
The key announcement of the evening was the list of the top global companies who certified the authenticity and accuracy of revenues exceeding $100,000. Viridian was announced as the #50 company, with revenue of $205 million in 2011, a 400%+ increase from our 2010 revenue. One of only three energy companies to make the Top 50 category, Viridian was clearly identified as one of the fastest growing companies in the industry, and received additional recognition during the daily program.

Saving Money Go Green

Viridian Sustainability Initiative:

Every individual and every organization in the world has an inherent responsibility to leave the world better than when they arrived. This responsibility, we believe, is perhaps most significant for companies that have potential to greatly impact the world. We believe Viridian shares in that responsibility and are proud to be able to be proactively bettering our communities and our world. We call it the Viridian Sustainability Initiative: It's our pledge to empower customers and Associates to take part in our mission to improve the world and the communities in which we live. More than just a pledge, it's our way of putting this belief into action as we work together to realize our vision. The Initiative provides resources and opportunities for service and involvement in many projects targeted to protect and preserve our world. It's ongoing and it's powerful. It's close to home and it's global.

Improving the Environment in Our Communities

Sustainability starts at home. Viridian Energy is committed to improving the communities we service. To support this commitment, we regularly organize and participate in community-service activities. Our active customers and independent Associates are proud to be a part of a company that puts good old-fashioned hard work, creativity and resources into bettering our communities. Join us at one of our upcoming events: We'd love to have your support in our efforts close to home.

Improving the World: 7 Continents in 7 Years

Each year, Viridian Energy researches and executes a sustainability project internationally that we feel will have a significant positive influence on the international community. Just as every great journey begins with a single step, any significant change happens through the collective impact of many individual efforts. Our global sustainability efforts are part of what we consider our responsibility in being a socially responsible company. In March 2011, we will traveled to Brazil to work on conservation and reforestation efforts in the Amazon. In 2012, the Sustainability Initiative will take us to Africa where we will focus on renewable energy. We look forward to many rewarding years of service and hard work as we strive to do our part in leaving the world better than when we found it.
