Network Marketing And Football: They Go Hand In Hand

Network Marketing And Football: They Go Hand In Hand

Posted on Wednesday, October 07, 2015 at 7:21:17 AM
It's Sunday at 1:00. The Jets are about to take the field. You and your family have your favorite drinks in hand, a smorgasbord of food on the coffee table and your game faces on.
That's right—it's football season, and you and your family live for this.
The thing is, the vast majority of your network marketing downteam live for NFL Sundays, too. So when Sunday rolls around, you can bet that just about all of your team members and future team members will be doing the exact same thing in their own living rooms or at their favorite local bars.
So this presents a tremendous opportunity for you to fire up your warm market by opening up your living room and inviting other Associates—and their contacts—over for some Sunday afternoon football.
Here are some of the main benefits to doing this:
Grow together: Let's face it—the NFL season is a marathon, not a sprint. Each NFL team (and fantasy football player) has their ups and downs. By gathering week in and week out to watch football, you will live through these highs and lows together. You'll cheer with them when they're up, and you'll pick them up when they're down. Sports present an ideal opportunity for group bonding, and additional dialogue during the week.
Strengthen friendships: Even more important than gathering together to watch football, hosting NFL Sundays at your house is a way to keep the group loose, friendly and communicating with each other. Team members will realize that they have others to rely on when they are experiencing tough times, and that they're not in network marketing alone.
Bring new ideas to life: Great ideas can come at unexpected moments while watching sports. For example, you may watch Peyton Manning—a master of audible plays—rearrange a play at the line of scrimmage before the snap and then strike up a conversation about strategically changing your strategy during a conversation with a new customer. Football, after all, is a game of innovation and teams are constantly restructuring their game plans in order to gain a competitive edge.
Demonstrate your leadership: As the leader of your downteam, you're like the coach standing on the sidelines. It's up to you to make sure everyone is up to speed with their businesses, and performing at the level they are capable of.  While watching football, you can take individual members aside during halftime or commercial breaks, do gut checks and ensure that they are all up to speed with what they are supposed to be doing. Likewise, after the final whistle blows and your team gets up to go home, you can bring the team together for a group huddle, speak some words of encouragement and remind everyone about their immediate responsibilities moving forward.
Of course, you don't have to do any of these things. You would be perfectly fine watching the rest of the NFL season with your family, without your downteam around. But in doing so, you wouldn't be maximizing your own group's potential. And in order to get ahead in network marketing, you need to set the bar high and continuously strive to be better.
So with that being said, we encourage all of you to play host and make NFL Sundays can't-miss events at your house. You will strengthen your personal relationships, and in doing so, excite your downteam about selling more.
And did we mention it's a lot of fun?

Solar Power Could Be Number One Energy Source by 2050

Solar Power Could Be Number One Energy Source by 2050

Posted on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 9:09:31 AM

Even if the Earth’s health prospects are dimming a bit from the impact of global warming, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And it’s coming from the Sun.
The undimming orb that marks the center of our solar system is a steady source of light and energy for our planet. It is one of the best alternative energy sources available to us. And a new study shows that humans may be on the cusp of utilizing it better.
Solar power has been developing at a rapid rate in recent years. Technological improvements have led to much greater harvesting power for solar arrays, as well as a concurrent reduction in cost, making installations available to more companies and residents than ever. This trend, according to the International Energy Agency, means that solar power could eventuallyovertake oil and gas as a main source of energy for the planet in the very near future.
The demand for solar energy is expected to increase by double over the next eight years, with the US representing one of the largest markets for this growth. At present, solar only provides about 0.5 percent of electricity needs around the world and 0.2 percent in the US. But with falling costs and rising productivity, those numbers won’t stay low for long.
As an example, photovoltaic systems will see their costs drop by 65 percent by 2050, leading to wide scale adoption during that time. That increasing adoption rate, coupled with government-subsidized credits, should push more and more businesses to pursue alternative energy production methods, which in turn will further drive down costs and improve technology. And lest anyone be worried that photovoltaic systems won’t meet the rising demand fully, the study suggests that solar thermal electricity can step in to round out a fuller solar picture. Maryland group aims to connect green consumers, businesses

Maryland group aims to connect green consumers, businesses

Maryland group aims to connect green consumers, businessesIn Carroll County, Maryland, a small environmental group has developed a new program that hopes to bring togetherbusinesses focused on sustainability and consumers who are equally aware, the Carroll County Times reports.
According to the news source, the initiative is the culmination of hard work done by a newly formed committee made up of members from Waste Not! Carroll, Sustainable Living Maryland and the Catoctin chapter of the Sierra Club. Sally Long, a committee member, stated that the program was based on a similar one that is already functioning in North Carolina. Committee member Don West originally proposed the idea, saying it would be a great way for the Green Business Network in Carroll County to help eco-savvy consumers buy products from green companies.
The program uses a scorecard to rate businesses in the area on their green status, which is then released on the groups website for all to see.
"The way I see it, all businesses want to be sustainable, otherwise they wouldn't be in business," Long told the media outlet. "We wanted to help businesses recognize that being 'green friendly' could result in financial benefits as well as environmental and community benefits."
A new focus
The scorecard will bring to light four different areas related to environmental progress, which is meant to incentivize companies to adopt a more sustainable business model. These areas include solid waste management, green purchasing tactics, efficient energy consumption and renewable energy and water conservation.
Dan Andrews, another committee member, said any business can fall into one of three tiers that displays their green status, which will be printed onto a decal and displayed at the business.
"We tried to keep phase one of this very practical and pragmatic," Andrews said. "People can begin to learn these methods and these techniques and phase into more sustainable practices over the course."
The media outlet noted that although some committee members expected resistance from local business owners, the majority were supportive of the idea.
"Once they see what we've tried to do, it's been unanimous as far as thinking this is a good idea," West added.
It's becoming much easier for green businesses in America to get off the ground thanks to growing demand for sustainable practices. To help nurture these businesses, South by Southwest has launched its Eco Startup Central, which will help companies devoted to green operations find their footing.

Green Rankings winners do more than switch electricity

Green Rankings winners do more than switch electricity

Green Rankings winners do more than switch electricityFor the last few years, Newsweek has been publishing its list of the most environmentally friendly organizations, those that go the extra mile to use green energy and switch operations to more eco-conservative measures, creating a competitive landscape for businesses. In order to rank up on the list, some businesses are making a final push to increase their standings.
Daily Finance wrote that Sprint is working on building more green initiatives and making these programs public, earning more attention for its clean programs. The company is making 100 percent recycled devices available for purchase, as well as pushing its customers to bring unused electronics back to stores for that purpose. The company has previously earned accolades from the EPA for this drive, as the company is making a dent in the over 2 million tons of electronics sent to landfills every year.
This shows how tough it is to move up in the Green Rankings list, as The Daily Beast wrote. Simply adding more green energy to power portfolios is not enough - businesses must challenge themselves to find ways of cutting costs, reducing waste and making cleaner operations. In this case, the winning company not only gains more public attention and prestige, but the environment wins as well.

Day one of Intersolar North America focuses on state of the industry

Day one of Intersolar North America focuses on state of the industryIntersolar North America kicked off July 9 in San Francisco, and Renewable Energy World reported that the first day's presenters addressed the “titanic shift” that occurred within the solar industry over the course of the year.
This past year has seen a number of solar manufacturers go bankrupt, most notably big industry player Solyndra. The plant closures and bankruptcies spurred concern over the effectiveness of the Obama administration’s clean energy agenda, with many debating the future of the solar industry even with record growth around the world.
Tom Cheyney with Impress Labs presented on the first day of Intersolar. He acknowledged the difficulties that manufacturers have had, faced with a glut in the market and the availability of low-cost product from China, but he said that the difficulties are a natural part of the industry's maturation.
“There’s a word for it. It’s called carnage,” he said of the closures, adding, “And that goes for any industry with growth like solar.”
Two of the first presenters at the conference, Chase Weir of Distributed Sun and Sanjay Shrestha of Lazard Capital, maintained that the future of solar is bright, and that in order to realize the full potential of solar power, there is a necessary attitude shift and a need for a re-examination of market mechanisms. Weir pointed to the need for more access to capital and fewer major manufacturers.
Intersolar North America continues with the conference through July 12, with exhibitions beginning July 10. The goal of INA is to provide a forum that will allow insight into the North American solar market, gathering companies from around the globe to share their knowledge and experiences in an effort to fuel the implementation of this green energy source.

Since it began in the late 1990s, deregulation of energy has created opportunity throughout the marketplace.

Since it began in the late 1990s, deregulation of energy has created opportunity throughout the marketplace.

Deregulation allows consumers to choose where they buy their power, much as they can choose their long-distance company. This choice creates a competitive marketplace in which each energy company is working to provide the best product. Creating competition drives prices down and improves quality.

Our product
Viridian Energy is proud to stand out among its competitors by offering an affordable product that meets or exceeds the proposed 2020 federal environmental goal of 20% renewable energy.

It's safe and reliable energy
Under deregulation, each part of your energy service is broken down into separate pieces that are provided by different companies. Delivery of the electricity to your home as well as all necessary service is still provided by your utility, making it possible for you to still have safe and reliable electricity in your home. Electric suppliers like Viridian are licensed by state and federal agencies and are not in competition with the local utility. The local utility does not make any money on the energy, only on the delivery and service of electricity, so the utility company supports customers who choose to switch suppliers. We provide greener energy to the grid and your utility delivers that energy to your home or business. It's that simple. All this adds up to a perfect reason for you to exercise your choice to select the best supplier for your electricity.

It's up to you
Deregulation means you can shop around to find the product that's best for you. You have a choice. Why wouldn't you make the choice that saves you money and helps the environment? You can make a difference for your family and the environment with Viridian.

AMERICANS EMBRACE ENERGY EFFICIENCY

According to recently released results from The Harris Poll, which surveyed 2,056 adults online about their green energy use, Americans are gradually making their homes more energy efficient.
The poll showed that Americans are knowledgeable about different energy sources and are doing basic things to conserve energy such as turning off lights, televisions and other appliances when they're not in use, and replacing incandescent bulbs with fluorescent ones.
Fifty-six percent reported that they use power strips and 54 percent stated that they are now using low-watt bulbs.
Americans around the country are being helped by utilities that are controlling energy costs with Smart Meter technology, and 20 percent of Americans reported hearing from their utility or co-op about the energy efficiency tools available to them.
Sarah Simmons, senior research executive and industry thought leader, believes that Americans are troubled by the initial costs of converting to renewable energy sources, which could compel energy providers to be more creative in how they encourage customers to make the switch.
According to research firm Clean Edge, global revenue for solar photovoltaics, wind power and biofuels increased 31 percent to reach $246 billion in 2011, which is evidence that the world realizes the need for alternate energy sources.
